Nashville, Tenn. (July 20, 2021) – The Nashville Predators, in partnership with leading digital collectible creator Fanaply, today launched their first series of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs). This limited run of 25 NFTs, entitled “The Origin Series,” is available at fanaply.com/predators, with the one-of-a-kind, No. 1 of 1 “Gold Saber Skull – Genesis Edition” up for live auction through July 30 packaged with two Lexus Lounge tickets to the Bridgestone Arena event of the buyer’s choosing and 25 individually numbered “Gold Saber Skull” NFTs available for purchase now for $150. Each NFT purchase includes a $35 donation in the buyer’s name to the 365 Pediatric Cancer Fund presented by Twice Daily.
The Predators and Fanaply worked to produce these NFTs using Ethereum blockchain technology so they are scarce and therefore collectible and valuable. They can be bought, sold or traded via the Fanaply website or on a secondary marketplace. Fanaply is one of the original creators of NFTs, beginning in 2019 with digital collectibles for the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival. Fanaply believes the future of NFTs is an accessible one, where people can afford to buy them and purchase with credit and debit cards. Fanaply has the most environmentally friendly NFTs and has built a proprietary system that dramatically reduces the impact of energy consumption, unlike many other NFT platforms. “Our fans have been asking us to enter the digital collectibles realm for quite some time so we are excited to do so by going back to the beginnings of the franchise with ‘The Origins Series,'” Predators Chief Marketing Officer Bill Wickett said. “We would like to thank the National Hockey League for permitting us to explore the space and look forward to working with our fans to further enhance the SMASHVILLE experience through more NFT series.”
“Bringing limited edition, environmentally friendly digital assets to the fans of the Nashville Predators is central to Fanaply’s belief that NFTs are the natural progression of fandom,” Fanaply Co-Founder and CEO Grant Dexter said. “Fans are still mostly interacting online with the teams they love right now, and they’re telling us they want digital products for their digital worlds. NFTs not only let fans commemorate amazing moments, milestones and experiences of the teams, games and communities they love, but for the first time in history, fans can actually have true portable digital ownership. Our NFTs are inclusive and can seamlessly integrate into teams’ existing sales, marketing and promotional strategies to create incremental revenue, real fan engagement and unlock digital and real-world rewards. We’re thrilled to be partnering with such an innovative, creative and progressive fan-driven organization with the Nashville Predators.”

About The Nashville Predators
The Nashville Predators became the National Hockey League’s 27th team on May 4, 1998 and have evolved from a young expansion franchise into a staple of the Middle Tennessee community in the years since. The team strives each season to reach its One Goal: becoming a Stanley Cup Champion hockey team while making Bridgestone Arena the number one sports and entertainment venue in the United States. In 2020 alone, with One Goal in mind, the Nashville Predators organization drove approximately $5.5 million in life-changing funds to assist a wide variety of relief efforts, non-profit organizations and individuals in need. On the ice, the team has seen historic success in recent seasons, qualifying for the Stanley Cup Playoffs seven straight times, a run headlined by a trip to the Stanley Cup Final in 2017, winning the Presidents’ Trophy in 2017-18, and earning a second consecutive Central Division title in 2018-19.
Fanaply creates blockchain-based digital collectibles, or NFTs, for the world’s biggest fans in sports, music and entertainment.
